What an episode! Shades of the present is, without a doubt the best episode of the series, and there have been so many that were outstanding. I admit it’s a character flaw, but I have to admit a measure of satisfaction every time Mr Exler whacked ‘Buckie’. It was rather sad to see Monty deconstructed like that, but at least his eyes are open. The question now, is, what will he do with this gift of new vision? It would be easy to declare him ‘born again’, but Captain Buchanan is a complicated man. It has been said that a radical change of heart is akin to spiritual collapse. The Question is, will Montaine Buchanan try to rebuild his relationship with his crew, or has the situation so imbeded itself so much that the crew will not accept any overt gesture of change, and something more subtle is called for? To the writers and the staff, I express my heartfelt thanks for their efforts, and my sincere best wishes as the series goes on hiatus.

Excellent ending to the story started in ep.21. It will be very interesting to see how Bucky proceeds from here. It’d be fun to see a gradual renaissance for DS-3 and possible replacement for Chimaera at some point.

How long will Star Trek Outpost be on sabbatical? I was itching for the sequel (which I ignorantly thought would be released today).

Not to fear! Star Trek: Outpost is only taking a month off! Just enough time for us to catch our breath and gear up for a great third season! Episode 23 – Shades of the Future will premiere on April 5, 2011… stay tuned!

The next episode, ‘Shades of The Future’, will premiere in early April. Truth be told, I’m looking forward to the conclusion of this miniseries myself. I’m curious as to whether Monty will see the light and change his ways, or will he descend into madness if Emily dies. At any rate, three weeks to go!
