Thank you to everyone who helps to bring STAR TREK - OUTPOST to life.

I've just spent a hugely enjoyable fortnight listening to all 32 episodes. I am blown away by the quality of the writing, acting and editing. I would rate you show more highly than some of the official STAR TREK films and series. I can't wait for episode 33. :-)

were you all asked to participate in Darker Projects current Infinity Doctors production? Just wondering as I know other audio doctors were. I was interested in the project at first until I saw that niether giant gnomes doctor or broken seas doctor were involved and those two, in my opinion, are the best fan produced versions of the doctor on the net.

While Dimensions is officially retired, I went to the liberty of drafting up the remaining series arc. We're going to be penning out an entire season and getting it published. Episodes one and two are already scripted. We're not going to cast until we have all ten-ish episodes written.

I found this series this week. I just finished a quasi-marathon from the beginning over the past 4 days. It's a great story that I'll be passing along to several of my friends.

Can't wait for 28!

I believe you are right on the mark. There is one thing. In "Shades of the Future" Knox said that sometimes you have to let go of one thing to find another. I is my belief that redemption is still possible, and there is one more chance for Monty. It's nothing more than a guess, but I believe Monty can still be saved, and it has something to do with the message he didn't finish listening to.

As far as Brize Nemon and Kar'rl Droonga, to quote Inspector Clouseau, 'Sinister forces are at work'. As agreeable as most of the Betazoids introduced in the series were, there were also exceptions. Devinoli Raal for one. Personally, the Ambassador's penchant for broadcasting her perceptions for public dissemination particularly disturbing, though even Deanna Troi waas guilty of that on occaision.

The one thing I really regret not hearing is Tork and Rachel's brief and loud chat following episode 24.

It’s nothing more than a guess, but I believe Monty can still be saved, and it has something to do with the message he didn’t finish listening to.

As far as Brize Nemon and Kar’rl Droonga, to quote Inspector Clouseau, ‘Sinister forces are at work’. As agreeable as most of the Betazoids introduced in the series were, there were also exceptions. Devinoli Raal for one. Personally, the Ambassador’s penchant for broadcasting her perceptions for public dissemination particularly disturbing, though even Deanna Troi waas guilty of that on occaision.

The one thing I really regret not hearing is Tork and Rachel’s brief and loud chat following episode 24.

Betazoids have never impressed me as the 'Command and Conquest' type. Briz Nemon, however seems to be embarking on a shopping trip on a planetary scale. She seems prepared to undermine Renova and the crew of the Chimera, all for some pipe dream of 'acquiring' a world which may or may not be their lost brothers and sisters. As for Ambassador Nemon herself, I did not imagine a Betazoid more into herself, and that includes Lwaxana Troi. I always thought clueless and vanity were an imcompatible pair. Oh, idiot moi! Kar'rl Droonga seems a more reasonable sort, but sadly is of like minds with Nemon. In the midst of all the chaos, I still have to say, good episode! I am looking forward to how this storyline progresses. I'm also looking forward to the fireworks when Monty wakes up. Hopefully it occurs after the upgrades are well along. Monty's so much fun when the veins on his head are distending, and there will be much distention, even if he doesn't remember. So much fun!

Ahhh, I hate that I don't review more than I do. Every episode leaves me with things to talk about, but I never seem to get around to it.

Well, let's see...

You find out who your friends are when you're unconscious. If it wasn't for the Doc, I reckon the crew would agree to keep the Capitan comatose until Tork had the place running properly. Not even the Admiral would argue it too much, and isn't THAT saying something?

After the Trilogy of episodes, I naturally assumed that the hologram of
Christmas Future was showing him a slightly more distant future, now I'm
not so sure. We can see everything spelling itself out according to the
dream sequence.

It would be quite in character of this series for such a bittersweet plot, with Exler and Smith leaving in heartbreak, and Tork putting the station together right.

But that wouldn't fit exactly with the mirror to 'A Christmas Carol' that the series went through. Thing is, the point of the old story is that Scrooge took a long hard look and changed his life. I saw little to no evidence that Buchanan had changed, per se; except for Smith's sister. It was a good job with the 'Ghost of Past' storyline. You didn't quite
manage to make him sympathetic, but now he's a far more tragic story
than a despicable one.

While I'm still on that subject, I'll just ask this question: What the hell is going on aboard DS3? is the place just haunted? Granted, in Sci-Fi, you tend to find a plausible reason to explain the classic Supernatural results; and Star Trek does it better than anyone; but...

Last time we saw ghosts, I figured it was the Chiefs implant, doing something with the holo-emitters making a Spectre appear. Now I'm not so sure. You could say it was all a delusion in the Captain's diseased mind, but it's just too accurate.

So what's happening?

The Doctor's reaction to the Betazoid's was less surprising than it could have been. Dr Winston is a natural Tranquil Fury waiting to happen, but her unusual prescience was talked about too much for us not to expect a reaction of some kind to a batch of bona-fide telepaths on board.

Based on the experience with betazoid women we got from TNG, we can't really be surprised at the notion of them being tactless and compassionate in equal measure, and it opens up some interesting what-if's where the dreaming Bucky is concerned.

Yessir. Going to be interesting.

Star Trek hasn't been good since episode 1 of Enterprise. You have no idea how incredibly wonderful it is to get such GOLD on a regular basis. Not only good writing and good performances, but plausible plots, fleshed out background, and we get a universe that isn't all shiny and new like everything on board ships called Enterprise was. Please don't ever stop producing these; it's better than a lot of episodes were, and the very best of what Star Trek can be now.

I thought I heard Ensign Randy Thomas hitting on someone. It sounded like Johnson. As a medical specialist, would she really have any interest, scientific or otherwise in that slimy piece of Yuppie larvae? And was that Renova having a chat with Mister Big? What a naughty girl!

I'm afraid I have to go out on a limb, here. Make no mistake. I really like Stra Trek Xen. But I have a few issues with some of the primary characters. First off, the Marshall Brothers. The both seem to have one glaring fault: They are determined to push a bad position. Huckberry seems obsessed with not letting the outside world know the USS Darwin is ready for the old starship's home. What really bothered me was the strident manner when he insisted that Beatrice and Greg separate because he knows how they should live their lives as a family? Yuck! Admiral Jack is so desperate to get additional assistance to Bajor, By hook or by crook, he doesn't recognize that when you get greedy, you get stupid, and you're gonna get caught! As for Ensign Dunning, How can you have a Starfleet Officer that cannot utilize Federation Standard? And Tech? Everyone has their quirks, but Tech is nothing but quirks! Please feel free to tell me I haven't got a clue. Thank you for reading.

It occurs to me if Commander Torkelson really wants to draw back the veil on Captain Buchanan, that photo would be an excellent start. A simple search would reveal that Monty and Arban first served together on Callimore, and that would lead him through the Marr invasion and occupation. I recognize that Arban is protecting the privacy of a friend (He's probably Buchanan's only one) But if I am following the plot effectively, the knowledge he needs to impart is being washed away by his treatment, and by the time he wakes up, only anger and frustration will remain. In 'Shades of the Future' the Admiral did say one person died heroicly, and one did not. It is reasonable to conclude Renova died heroicly avenging Captain Tyrellian. So that leaves Buchanan, and his sad ending. I guess we'll have to see in what form his end takes, and if there is still to be one

I've been meaning to mention this for a really long time (close to a year, ) that I appreciated the Glaminfo. I work in the gaming industry and I'm a former craps dealer, so that was really nice touch for me.

I've been meaning to ask, what class of Starship is the Remmington? I know it's not an Oberth. Is it a New Orleans class, perhaps? Or perhaps a Cheyenne or Renaissance II? My curiousity is gnawing.

If there ever was a dictionary definition of a cliffhanger, I think the end of episode 23 would fit that definition rather nicely.

I say, Bravo! Well done to the writers, the actors, the staff. Episode 23 was the Crown jewel of the trilogy! My highest commendation has to go to Edward Gore, who gave Montaine Buchanan such depth and intensity. Being the bad guy may be fun, but it takes hard work to make such a character so believable you want to hate his guts and feel sorry for him. I just want you all to know, you have one hardcore dedicated fan in me! I can't wait to see where you take the storyline next! Thank you so much for all your hard work

The next episode, 'Shades of The Future', will premiere in early April. Truth be told, I'm looking forward to the conclusion of this miniseries myself. I'm curious as to whether Monty will see the light and change his ways, or will he descend into madness if Emily dies. At any rate, three weeks to go!

How long will Star Trek Outpost be on sabbatical? I was itching for the sequel (which I ignorantly thought would be released today).

Lines for Episode 2 were recorded last month. That episode is currently in post production and Episode 3 is to the cast. Just building up a little leeway before we release them publicly :-)

Sherman -- we haven't forgotten about Dimensions. We officially retired it so we'd have a bit of time to work on it. Episodes are being written, but no lines have been recorded yet. You'll see some interesting things come down the pipe from both Xen and Dimensions within the year (much sooner from Xen, though!)

Hi Dan, thanks for leaving a comment. And I'm sure I speak for everyone involved when I say, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I don't know what production schedules are like for the guys doing all the real hard work behind this, but I can tell you that at least some of the dialogue for a second episode has been recorded. ;) So there is certainly intent for more! I don't want to give away any spoilers for Ep.2, especially since there is always the possibility for edits or rewrites at this point. But I can say, after reading/recording Ep.2 I'm feeling just like you: eagerly awaiting what happens next! So hang in there, and keep checking back! :)

Excellent ending to the story started in ep.21. It will be very interesting to see how Bucky proceeds from here. It'd be fun to see a gradual renaissance for DS-3 and possible replacement for Chimaera at some point.

Just wondering if we could get an update on what's going on with XEN. ITs been a while, and just wondering if its still alive.
Also, the promo mentions the mirror universe. That said, is this show going to reference the events from star trek dementions. We were left hanging with that show. Just wondering if we are going to get an update on what happened, or at least some closure.
After all, the former crew of the Churchill deserve better then potential destruction in a rift as a fate. :)

What an episode! Shades of the present is, without a doubt the best episode of the series, and there have been so many that were outstanding. I admit it's a character flaw, but I have to admit a measure of satisfaction every time Mr Exler whacked 'Buckie'. It was rather sad to see Monty deconstructed like that, but at least his eyes are open. The question now, is, what will he do with this gift of new vision? It would be easy to declare him 'born again', but Captain Buchanan is a complicated man. It has been said that a radical change of heart is akin to spiritual collapse. The Question is, will Montaine Buchanan try to rebuild his relationship with his crew, or has the situation so imbeded itself so much that the crew will not accept any overt gesture of change, and something more subtle is called for? To the writers and the staff, I express my heartfelt thanks for their efforts, and my sincere best wishes as the series goes on hiatus.

Love the series. I've recently gotten addicted to star trek fan fiction audio dramas and you guys here at giant gnome are one of the best out there. You guys have Interesting plots, dynamic characters, and consistantly release new episode monthly when other audio dramas are inconsistant to say the least. Since there are no new star trek series on tv, you and other audio drama production teams are the only way us trekies can get our STrek fix! Keep em coming!

Not usually a fan of Christmas Carol riffs, but in this case I have to give a thumbs up. The Outpost crew continue to produce excellent work. Thank you all!

wow, this was pretty great. I really liked the concept of the "temporal agency". Will there be anymore episodes of this? I really hope so. Hell, I would even audition for a role is their is a lack of people in that regard.

Just when I was starting to think Captain Buchanan was simply going to be a caricature, you go and make him interesting and give a good reason for him being the way he is. I have been thoroughly enjoying this series and it keeps delivering. Thank you.

I sort of figured out where the January episode was headed about halfway though. Very clever! Hopefully this storyline will bring about some changes on DS3. Always good to hear my son (crewman) contribute to my favorite podcast. Keep up the good work.

I'm a newbie 'round here, but I just had to shout out to everyone: This is an amazing episode! I have listened to a LOT of ST based shows out there, and after a few shows, I normaly loose interest. But not Outpost, Every episode has been a delight in sound and storytelling, and this one is fantastic! Buchanan is one of my favorite charicters (sorry spelling on the fly here). the Man is not evil, but he does drive everyone crazy! He is not an "anti hero", Just another guy at the office with his own agenda, and past. Here we find out what has made him so bitter, or a least the tip of what must be a very large iceberg. By the end of the episode, you start warming upto him, and even rooting for him.

The acting by everyone is top rate and natural feeling (something a few other podcaster could take a hint from), and the writing is just fantastic! Kudoos to everyone; a great episode from a amazing show! Tell your friends...tell everyone.

I loved this episode! I could get Tovar-Smith as Bob Cratchit, but Sayzar Tyrellian as Jacob Marley? Rachel Winston as the Ghost of Christamas past? Dosen't matter. I loved the story. I felt sympathy for Monty at the end of the story, though I hated his guts at th opening. I always thought he was a sociopathic tyrannical control freak. Now I know why. Hats off to the cast and crew! Can't wait till next month.

GREAT EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've seen references to a tragic past for the good captain. I even saw hints that something turned him into a Scrooge character earlier, especially when talking to the admiral at the party. Loved the chains at the start. I thought, was I hearing this right?
I can't wait for the next episode. Monty as Scrooge, Tirellian as Marley, TOlvar-Smith as Cratchet, Tork as Scrooge's nephew. Love it all!!

Keep up the great work. Thank you!
