Hi All,
Tis I Uhlan Genin, from episode 3 and i myself and awaiting breathlessly for the release of episode 3, to which my Character will make his first appearence, I am trying to be patient but like you all have said, this is the best trek audio drama out there and i am proud to be a part of it.

Believe me, i know how hard it can be to put something together that you feel will be "on the mark" as you put it. Pre-recorded shows can be tough. But well rewarding when the do come together.

Thanks and we appreciate your comments! Totally agreed on the "Coming soon" but for us, we really mean it - and if we ever change our minds, y'all will know - because we'll let you know. haha

The next ones will be larger, but still less than a full-length episode. "Before the Mirror" is the full-length of episode 2, but we decided to split it up, as mentioned earlier.

Episode 3 will clock in somewhere around 30-45 minutes and same for every episode thereafter unless we do something special.

I thank you for answering all the questions I have asked and quickly replying to the posting I have made so far. It more than show how much you care for the work you and the others are putting into this.

But many of us have been burn by the follow statements. COMING SOON and other like statements.

I just had to get this off my chest.

One last question

on ave. how long is each eps going to be. Because Parts 1 & 2 only added upto about 10 to 15 minutes in length.

I don't think so.

I think the better course is to do it right - or don't do it at all. I'd rather make you wait for something brilliant (I realize I'm starting to sound like Blizzard - "StarCraft 2 will be ready when it's damn well good and ready") than immediately release something that's half-assed.

We did fix Episode 2 - we've re-cast two major roles, fixing the audio quality, and put ourselves in a better position to come back strong.

Both Waldo and I, and Tony and the rest of the Gnomes, for that matter, have listened to ALL of the competition. Their shows, their technical difficulties, their triumphs. We know what sounds good and what is bunk.

We love our listeners, we're not going to show you crap and then insult your intelligence by asking you if it's crap. We know you know better.

If you don't like the hard work we're putting in, then you'll eventually stop listening - which is never our goal, but we can't please everyone.

You could always have put out a blooper audio as a bit of fun or even recorded what you just wrote here and put out what you have. But when you also wrote that you were going to fix Eps 2.

You should have let us hear it first and then ask us the listener if it needed to be fixed or not..

we may have had some ideas of our own to toss in the mix.

I just hope we like all the hard work you are putting in to this

No doubt, we should have had a LOT more episodes out by now.

I'm not sure who said we're going to be "the greatest Star Trek fan series ever produced" but it wasn't me. I don't like to brag about what we've done - I think what the cast and crew have done is amazing, but I think, personally, that Waldo and I have done a tremendous wrong to this series.

Being the best has never been our goal - our goal was to do a show that we could learn how to put together.

Keep in mind, none of us are getting paid to do this - so, on top of managing the website, answering comments and all our other hobbies, on top of jobs, family, school, and anything else we get involved in - we have Dimensions. It is, very much, a labor of love.

I can make all the excuses in the world - but the fact remains that we get derailed very easily. Whether it's a shotty take or bad audio or a missing sound effect or something that requires more time that day than we can put in, getting derailed is what has happened time and time again. My goal is to put is in a position where we never have to worry about that again, but I honestly can't say that we've done a good job at it so far.

At the the moment, we have three full episodes written and the fourth is due to be edited on 9/1. Episode two was split into pieces to give us time to figure out what we needed to do to get back on track.

Now, what the cast knows that you don't is that we've started to rally - to get back on track. We've toyed around with different ideas in the past, but we're watching Tony's Outpost and keeping tabs on other productions and we're learning as we go along.

All we can ask is your patience and that when a new episode comes along, you keep on clicking that download button.

It has been almost a year since you started this monster and so far all we have heard from you is that it is going to be a of the greatest Star Trek Fan Series ever produced and by this time we should have heard at least 5 eps of ST:D so far

You have done very little to show us. That this is the case. Except for two what I loosely call minis. Yet you have started a Doctor Who series, Completed 5 esp of ST: Outpost and started a new series called Spacenet.

This series is starting to look a lot like ST: Rengades. Which also has only produced 1 full eps and had a few character cameos in the audio drama ST: Federation One made by the people of Hidden Frontiers.

Now what the heck is really going on here.

Damn, i missed the auditions. Anyway, i love the new trailer. I'm chompin' at the bit to hear the episode. You all cannot make these episodes fast enough for me.

On another point. I, like you all, have seen the new Star Trek movie. I don't know how you felt about it, but I feel like it is no longer part of the Trek universe that we have come to know. Sure, there are some similarities, but the crew will never be the one that we know. What would have been fun to see is a Mirror Universe movie. Recasting the crew would not have been a big deal, just as long as it wasn't going to be billed as a Trek to bring in a new generation, but a new Trek to hold the older fans and bring in new fans.

Anyway, I can bitch and bitch about it all night, but I will say that it was a fun movie to watch from a Special Effects viewpoint and a quick moving story with little tastes of comic relief. In any case, I'm really looking forwar to hearing this next episode of Dimentions

No worries at all. The 6-month gap is something we're all in agreement on! :-D We're working very hard to bring Star Trek: Dimensions into prime-time. Part of that will be the casting for the whole season's worth of characters. So watch out for a casting call very soon!

@Ellis, Kakkin - Thank you very much for your kind words.

Believe me, we have not given up on Star Trek: Dimensions at all. A lot of things kept us from releasing Episode 2 as soon as we would have liked. I know how frustrating it can be while waiting on this project to materialize. I feel your pain! :-)

Dimensions is a joy to write and I'm working very hard to get a full season completed before we release any more. At that time, we're going to have a re-launch and along the way I'll be blogging about the experience with some mini-stories to keep the drool flowing!

Episode 2, believe it or not, is already recorded, as is Episode 3... but Episode 2 did not turn out like we wanted it to, and Episode 3 is much closer to the mark. Rather than release something that we know you wouldn't like (because we certainly didn't), we decided to hold on to these episodes until we could make them better.

It wasn't the actors or any drama like that, it was just... I didn't feel we were being true to Trek. And that was our mission in the first place.

Dimensions has been a great learning exercise for all of us here at Giant Gnome. We're all working very hard to turn this crazy cliffhanger into a series that you'll enjoy for a long time!

I'm also working on The Trek Project, an attempt to bring short fan fiction and audio drama in the realm of Trek together... we're starting very small and seeing how it goes. The first episode should grace us by May. These are one-off stories which dive into a specific area of the Trek universe and take us for a small adventure.

In the mean time... and you didn't hear this from me, but... you'll have another cast of adventurers coming very, very soon. Outpost is -by-and-large- my favorite iteration of Star Trek audio drama. I've been very lucky as part of the Giant Gnome family to hear some early cuts of the first few episodes... and I was blown away. I know you will be too.

So, while you're waiting for us to get this show on the road, know that you WILL have something awesome to look forward to by May.

Yes I agree, 6 Months is silly to wait for the next installment, People will lose intrest and your going to lose listeners regardless of how OUTSTANDING the story is, Please try to release then more frequently, no offence intended

The first episode of this series was better than any of the other Star Trek audio shows...by far. When is the next episode going to be recorded? I mean, talk about a cliffhanger! You can't leave someone hanging this long; it's becoming unbearable.
